Visiting
The Ghana National Mosque is an active mosque and a major architectural landmark. Visitors are welcome, but access to the prayer halls is usually restricted to Muslims; non-Muslim visitors can view the surrounding grounds and courtyard.
Typical hours
The mosque is typically open daily from about 6am to 8pm, with breaks during the five daily prayers. Friday midday prayer is particularly important, often restricting visitor access.

Exterior photography of the mosque is encouraged and gives great photo opportunities, especially in sunlight. Indoors, photography is usually not permitted, particularly during prayer times.
Time needed
A visit to the exterior grounds and courtyard takes about 20-30 minutes. If you can join a guided tour, the time extends to about 45-60 minutes.
