Tucked away in the heart of the scenic Elster Valley, the town is surrounded by the rolling hills of the Vogtland highlands. Wünschendorf is recognized as one of the oldest settlements in the region, home to the St. Vitus Church (Veitskirche), a premier Romanesque landmark dating back to the 10th century.
