Seiffen is the heart of Erzgebirge craftsmanship and is known worldwide as the 'Toy Village.' The town's history is closely linked to mining; when tin deposits were exhausted, miners developed woodcarving as a new livelihood. Today, the village is a center for traditional Christmas items such as nutcrackers, incense smokers, and candle arches. The baroque Seiffen octagonal church, built in 1779, is a landmark and a popular motif for woodcraft artworks. Visitors can experience the centuries-old history of craftsmanship in the open-air museum and the toy museum. Especially during the Advent season, Seiffen transforms into a winter wonderland with festive lighting and traditional miners' parades.
