The Église Saint-Antoine de Padoue in Saül is one of the most characterful and well-preserved wooden churches in French Guiana. It was constructed between 1952 and 1962 in the remote commune of Saül, which is only accessible by air. The church is an outstanding example of traditional Guianese sacred architecture, crafted almost entirely from local tropical timber. With its two square towers and simple yet elegant facade, it fits perfectly into the lush jungle landscape.
