Merville is a gem in the surroundings of Toulouse, combining rural tranquility with aristocratic splendor. The highlight of the municipality is the Château de Merville, an 18th-century brick chateau classified as a Monument Historique. The chateau is world-famous for its 30-hectare park, which houses the largest boxwood labyrinth in Europe. The labyrinth, with its hedges over 250 years old, stretches for several kilometers and features visitors a unique experience. The village architecture is typical of the Languedoc region, characterized by the distinctive red bricks (Toulousaine). In recent years, Merville has experienced steady population growth, as its proximity to Airbus factories and Toulouse-Blagnac Airport makes it very attractive for commuters. Despite its closeness to the economic center, Merville has preserved its village character and agricultural lands. The city administration places great importance on preserving heritage and promoting tourism around the chateau. Culturally, Merville is defined by various festivals and exhibitions in the chateau grounds, which attract visitors throughout the year.
