Le Petit-Quevilly is a dynamic commune in the Seine-Maritime department, deeply rooted in the industrial history of the Normandy region. During the 19th century, the town flourished as a major hub for textile manufacturing and chemical production, attracting a large workforce and shaping its urban layout with traditional worker housing and grand factory chimneys. The city's cultural pride is the 12th-century Chapel of Saint-Julien, which stands as a remarkable example of Romanesque architecture and houses some of the most beautiful medieval frescoes in France. Geographically positioned on the left bank of the Seine, it serves as a vital link in the Rouen metropolitan corridor. Today, Le Petit-Quevilly is undergoing significant urban renewal, transforming former industrial sites into sustainable residential areas and public parks, successfully balancing its hardworking heritage with a modern focus on quality of life and ecological transition.
