Sainte-Savine is a French city in the Aube department, part of the Grand Est region and directly bordering the western edge of Troyes. Historically named after Saint Sabina, a 3rd-century martyr, the town's modern identity was forged during the Industrial Revolution. It became a major center for the hosiery and knitwear industry, mirroring the growth of nearby Troyes. This period of prosperity left an indelible mark on the town's architecture, particularly in the Art Deco style that was popular during the early 20th century. The cultural center 'L'Art Déco' is one of the most remarkable examples of this style in the region. Today, Sainte-Savine is an animated and sought-after residential area, known for its busy commercial streets like Avenue Gallieni and its high standard of public services. The town serves as a crucial link between the historic center of Troyes and the expanding western suburbs. It hosts numerous cultural associations and a popular weekly market that attracts visitors from throughout the Aube department. Residents benefit from extensive green spaces, such as the Parc de la Noue, and a well-connected public transport network. While its textile factories have mostly closed, the city has reinvented itself as a hub for small businesses and creative industries.
