Hellerup is a prominent and affluent district north of Copenhagen, located within the Gentofte Municipality. The area gained international recognition as the home of the Tuborg Brewery, founded here in 1873, which shaped the region's industrial heritage for over a century. Today, the former brewery site has been transformed into the modern Tuborg Havn district, featuring luxury apartments, corporate offices, and a yacht harbor. A key cultural landmark is the Experimentarium, a world-class science center that was extensively modernized and reopened after a fire in 2017. Hellerup is characterized by its grand architecture, including the Hellerup Church from 1900 and numerous diplomatic residences. Strandvejen serves as the central thoroughfare, famous for its upscale boutiques and cafes. The district is a major transportation hub, with Hellerup Station being one of the busiest railway interchanges in Denmark.
