Hørsholm is an elegant town in northeastern Zealand, renowned for its rich history and significant green spaces. Historically, the town was the site of the magnificent Hirschholm Palace, which was regarded as the Danish Versailles in the 18th century but was demolished in the early 19th century. Today, Hørsholm Church, built in the Neoclassical style, stands in the former palace gardens. Another highlight is the Danish Arboretum, part of the University of Copenhagen and one of Europe's most comprehensive tree collections. The town is also the seat of Hørsholm Municipality and serves as a regional economic hub home to numerous knowledge-based enterprises. Geographically, Hørsholm is located slightly inland from the Øresund coast and is surrounded by forests such as Folehave Skov. The townscape is characterized by high-quality architecture and well-maintained public spaces reflecting the region's prosperity. The local cultural center, Trommen, provides a diverse program of music, film, and theater.
