💡 Tips
- Prepare for a steep climb down and up; the wooden stairs to the beach have over 400 steps.
- Fossil hunting (belemnites and sea urchins) is allowed on the beach, but do not dig into the chalk cliffs.
- Visit the GeoCenter and the viewpoints early in the day to avoid the tourist crowds.
- The chalk can be very slippery when wet, so sturdy footwear is a must.
- Parking at the main center requires a fee, but there are smaller, free parking spots further away.
🍽 Food
Local ice cream made with milk from Møn cows; available at the GeoCenter cafe and local shops.

Møns Klint is one of Denmark's most impressive natural wonders on the east coast of the island of Møn. The chalk cliffs stretch over six kilometers and reach a height of 128 meters above sea level at 'Store Klint'. The formations consist of the remains of microscopic chalk algae deposited at the bottom of a sea about 70 million years ago. The tectonic force of glaciers during the last Ice Age pushed these layers vertically upwards. The area gives a well-developed network of hiking trails above the edge through ancient beech forests that glow intensely green in spring. Stairs lead down to the narrow pebble beach, where visitors can search for fossils such as belemnites or sea urchins. The GeoCenter Møns Klint at the top is an interactive museum that conveys Denmark's geological history in a modern way, including VR and a 3D cinema. A special highlight is the island of Møn's recognition as Denmark's first 'Dark Sky Park'. Due to minimal light pollution, the Milky Way is clearly visible to the naked eye here. Culinarially, one should try the famous 'Møn candies' and local honey. Access from Copenhagen takes about 1.5 hours by car via the Farø Bridges. The best time to visit is May, when the orchids bloom, or clear autumn nights for stargazing.
