The Prague Botanical Garden in the Troja district covers approximately 30 hectares and was officially established in 1969. Its most prominent feature is the Fata Morgana greenhouse, which opened in 2004 and stretches 130 meters in length, showcasing diverse tropical and subtropical flora. The garden is divided into several thematic areas, including a meticulously designed Japanese garden, a Mediterranean section, and the historic St. Claire vineyard, which is among the oldest in Prague. It houses extensive collections of peonies, irises, and plants native to the North American prairies. Beyond its role as a public park, the garden is a center for scientific research and the conservation of endangered plant species. Its hillside location provides visitors with sweeping views of the Vltava river valley and the Prague cityscape, combining natural beauty with cultural history.
