Cavtat, the ancient Epidaurum, is a place of timeless elegance at the southernmost tip of Croatia. After the original settlement was destroyed in the 7th century, the refugees founded nearby Dubrovnik, while Cavtat later flourished again under the rule of the Republic of Ragusa. The town stretches picturesquely along two peninsulas and features one of the most beautiful seaside promenades in the Adriatic, lined with palm trees and historic buildings.
