Čilipi is the largest village in the Konavle region, located about 22 kilometers south of Dubrovnik. The village is well-known far beyond the country's borders for preserving local traditions. Every Sunday after mass, a folklore performance takes place in the square in front of the Church of St. Nicholas, where residents in their magnificent Konavle costumes perform dances like the 'Linđo'. This tradition has attracted visitors from all over the world for decades. The village also houses the Konavle County Museum, showcasing an impressive collection of folk costumes, embroideries, and artifacts from rural life. Konavle embroidery is particularly fine and was traditionally used to decorate women's costumes. The surroundings of Čilipi are characterized by vineyards, olive groves, and cypresses, giving the area a Tuscan flair. In local wine cellars, you can taste the famous white wine 'Malvasija Dubrovačka'. For nature lovers, there are numerous hiking and cycling trails leading through the valley. A special highlight is the path along the Konavle cliffs, offering spectacular views of the open sea. Proximity to Dubrovnik Airport makes Čilipi a convenient location for travelers who prefer the peace of country life over the city's hustle. Despite being next to the airport, the village remains an authentic example of Dalmatian culture and hospitality.
