Termas de Chillán operates as a dual-season destination, capitalizing on both its geothermal activity and varied ski terrain. The resort base sits at 1,600 meters elevation, surrounded by ancient Andean forests that offer a distinct environment compared to the barren slopes of ski resorts near Santiago. The ski area features one of South America's longest runs, Las Tres Marías, stretching 13 kilometers down the mountain. The natural hot springs are channeled into large outdoor pools, allowing visitors to bathe in mineral-rich water surrounded by deep snow during the winter. Geothermal mud treatments are a staple of the local spa services. Summer brings mountain biking, hiking to the volcano crater, and horseback riding through the dense wooded valleys. The resort is situated 80 kilometers east of the city of Chillán in the Ñuble Region. Access generally involves taking a train or bus to Chillán, followed by a transfer up the mountain road. The ski season typically runs from late June to September, while the thermal baths operate year-round.
