Panagyurishte is a prominent historical town in the Sredna Gora Mountains, globally famous for the discovery of the Thracian Panagyurishte Gold Treasure dating back to the 4th century BC. Beyond its archaeological significance, the town played a pivotal role in Bulgarian history as the center of the Fourth Revolutionary District during the 1876 April Uprising. It was here that Rayna Knyaginya sewed the legendary flag of freedom, and her memorial house remains a major cultural attraction today. The town features exceptionally preserved National Revival architecture and numerous monuments dedicated to the struggle for independence from Ottoman rule.
