Sungai Liang is a major industrial hub and settlement in the Belait District, located approximately 40 kilometers from the town of Kuala Belait. The region has become a center for Brunei's petrochemical industry through the Sungai Liang Industrial Park (SPARK), which houses major projects such as the Brunei Methanol Company. In addition to its industrial importance, Sungai Liang is home to a forest recreation park that protects the rich biodiversity of the local dipterocarp forests. Geographically, the settlement is situated on the coast and is a key junction on the connecting road between Tutong and Seria.
