Brunei Fertilizer Industries Plant (Brunei)

Weather…

The Brunei Fertilizer Industries (BFI) plant is a cornerstone of Brunei's efforts to diversify its economy beyond oil and gas. Located at the SPARK industrial park, the plant commenced commercial production in 2022. It is a world-class, state-of-the-art facility that uses natural gas as a feedstock to produce ammonia and urea fertilizer. With a production capacity of 3,900 metric tonnes of urea per day, BFI is one of the largest urea producers in Southeast Asia. The entire product is destined for export, targeting markets in the agricultural region. The project is wholly owned by the Government of Brunei and represents a strategic investment to extract more value from the country's gas reserves while boosting high-value-added exports. The plant was constructed by the German engineering company Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions.
