Hawar Islands

The Hawar Islands form an archipelago of 36 islands situated in the Gulf of Bahrain, closer to Qatar but governed by Bahrain. It is a recognized Ramsar wetland site, serving as a critical habitat for the globally threatened Socotra cormorant and dugong populations. Visitors travel here via a 45-minute boat ride from the Durrat Marina to experience untouched nature and go birdwatching or kayaking. There are limited hotel accommodations, ensuring a quiet, eco-friendly environment. Fresh fish and traditional Arabic mezze are the standard dining options at the main resort. The winter months from November to March provide the best climate for outdoor activities and wildlife observation, completely avoiding the intense summer heat.
