The Vlorë Industrial Park is a dynamic economic hub that merges the city's manufacturing history with modern energy infrastructure. Historically, the region was prominent for its PVC and soda plants, which were shuttered following the 1990 transition. Today, the zone focuses on the energy sector, centered around the Vlorë Thermal Power Plant (TEC). This facility was constructed with international assistance to bolster electrical supply security in southern Albania. The park leverages its strategic coastal location and proximity to the port, making it good for logistics and fuel imports. Future projects include the establishment of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminals and solar farms, aiming to transform Vlorë into a clean energy crossroads. The park's development is closely synchronized with the construction of the new Vlorë International Airport to maximize synergies between industry and transportation.
