What is this place?
Lushnjë is the central trade and processing hub of the Myzeqe Plain, Albania's breadbasket. Agricultural products from the entire region are collected, sorted, and processed here for domestic and international markets. Visiting
Most processing facilities are visible from the outside but not open to the public. Loading stations and warehouses along the main roads can be easily observed. A visit to the city market provides an authentic insight into the local food economy.
Where to view it
The best view of the bustling agricultural activity is from the road bridges over the bypass road. From here, truck convoys heading to processing plants are clearly visible. The central market square is also an excellent spot for observing trade.
