Motor Sich in Zaporizhzhia is one of the world's leading manufacturers of aircraft and helicopter engines, as well as gas turbine plants. The company's history dates back to 1907, and today it exports its high-tech products to over 100 countries. The plant is famous for designing and producing engines for some of the world's largest aircraft, including models from the Antonov series like the An-124 Ruslan and the An-225 Mriya. Beyond military applications, Motor Sich supplies civil aviation and produces components for cruise missiles and drones. The company maintains its own design bureau and testing centers, making it a self-sufficient hub for aerospace engineering. In recent years, Motor Sich has been at the center of geopolitical interests, particularly concerning takeover attempts by Chinese investors, which eventually led to its nationalization by the Ukrainian government for reasons of national security. It remains a symbol of Ukraine's technical heritage and its ambitions within the global aviation sector.
