Lozova is a major regional center and a critical railway junction in the Kharkiv Oblast of eastern Ukraine. The city's history traces back to 1869, when a railway station was established during the construction of the Kursk-Kharkiv-Azov line. Due to its strategic location at the intersection of vital trade and transport routes, the settlement rapidly evolved into an industrial hub. During the Russian Civil War and WWII, Lozova was the site of intense combat, particularly during the Izium-Barvinkovo offensive in 1942. Today, the city is primarily known for its heavy machinery industry, with the Lozova Forging-Mechanical Plant (LKMZ) being one of the region's largest employers. Beyond industry, Lozova supports a well-developed educational and cultural infrastructure, featuring several technical colleges and a local history museum. The urban landscape is characterized by Soviet-era architecture and expansive industrial zones, complemented by public parks and green spaces. As the second-largest city in the Kharkiv Oblast, Lozova plays a central role in the logistics and economy of eastern Ukraine.
