Gökçeada
Gökçeada, known as Imbros in antiquity, is a sanctuary of peace and slow living in the northeastern Aegean. As the world's first 'Cittaslow' island, it prioritizes sustainability and local traditions. The island is characterized by its wild, mountainous terrain, pristine bays, and welcoming Greek villages like Zeytinliköy, where visitors can enjoy traditional Greek coffee. For adventure seekers, Aydıncık Beach is one of the region's premier windsurfing spots. A unique natural feature is the Salt Lake, which dries up in summer and is popular for its therapeutic mud baths. The local gastronomy relies on organic produce, high-quality olive oil, and fresh lamb. Accessible by ferry from Kabatepe near Çanakkale, Gökçeada is best visited between May and September to fully experience its natural beauty and tranquil beaches.
