Dikili

Dikili is the northernmost coastal district of İzmir province, situated on the shoreline opposite the island of Lesbos. The municipality is home to an uninterrupted beach of over 40 kilometers, serving as a major draw for domestic tourism. In the mountains further away from the town center, crater lakes, caves, and the Nebiler waterfall enrich the natural offerings. The most scenic swimming spots are located around the southern village of Bademli. The fine sandy bays of Bademli Halk Plajı and Pissa Koyu feature shallow waters. Fame Beach and Barcelona Beach Club provide developed infrastructure during the peak season. The coastal waters are pleasantly cooled by cold marine currents during the summer heat. The region's geothermal activity has been known since historical times. The thermal springs around Dikili still play an important role in health tourism and in heating greenhouse agriculture today. During the summer season, regular boat trips depart from the harbor to the surrounding uninhabited islands.
