Littau

Crisp winter air greets us at the old schoolhouse. Inside St. Theodul Church, we light a candle and enjoy the silence. A hearty lunch at Ochsen warms us up midday. The walk along the Reuss follows frosty banks. The ruins stand dark against the early evening sky. We conclude the day watching the sunset from the snowy slopes of Littauer Berg.

Start actively with a bike ride at Sonnenberg and enjoy the view from Littauer Berg. From there, cycle down to the Reuss river, where the Reussbühl Ruins and the riverside path await – ideal for an extended lunch break. In the afternoon, pedal into the center of Littau to experience the spiritual atmosphere of the Parish Church of St. Theodul and the quiet St. Niklaus Chapel. A perfect mix of nature, history, and culture on two wheels.

We park conveniently at Littauer Berg and enjoy the view from the dry car. The drive continues to Sonnenberg-Bahn, visiting viewpoints despite the rain. At Reussbühl, we park directly at the ruins' access point. We spend the midday shower by the river before heading to a multi-story car park in the center to stay dry for the rest of the day.
