Zollikon is considered one of the most privileged residential communities in Switzerland and is located directly southeast of the city of Zurich on the so-called Gold Coast. The municipality is divided into the village itself on the lakeshore and the higher-altitude district of Zollikerberg. The history of Zollikon can be traced back to the 9th century, when the place was first mentioned in documents. The townscape is characterized by magnificent villas, extensive gardens, and modern architectural gems, which often offer a dramatic view over Lake Zurich and as far as the Alps. Despite its proximity to the metropolis, Zollikon has retained a village character, emphasized by the historic core with its half-timbered houses and the late Gothic church. The community is known for its very low tax rate, making it particularly attractive for wealthy private individuals. In addition to the first-class residential location, Zollikon also provides excellent educational and health facilities, such as the renowned Klinik Lengg. For leisure activities, extensive forest areas on the Zollikerberg are available for walks and sporting activities. The connection to Zurich's public transport is excellent via bus lines and the S-Bahn, allowing for a fast connection to the city center and the airport.
