Monte Serravalle is a central geographical elevation in the most populous municipality (castello) of the Republic of San Marino. This hill dominates the northern national territory and forms the core of the Serravalle settlement, historically known as 'Olnano'. The geological base consists of a solid limestone formation, which provided a natural platform for the medieval castle and subsequent urban developments. Thanks to its location on the main connecting route to the Adriatic coast, Monte Serravalle was a strategic hub for trade and military operations for centuries.
