Domnești is a rapidly growing commune on the western outskirts of Bucharest, strategically positioned along the capital's ring road. The commune consists of two villages, Domnești and Țegheș, and is bordered by the Sabar and Argeș rivers to the south. Over the past two decades, it has transitioned from a primarily agricultural settlement into a bustling suburban residential area. The population has surged as many Bucharest residents moved here, seeking a quieter environment while remaining close to the city center and the A1 motorway. Historically first mentioned in the 16th century, Domnești was long renowned for its vegetable gardens that supplied Bucharest's markets. A major recent milestone was the completion of the Domnești suspended roundabout over the ring road, which significantly alleviated traffic congestion. Today, the area is a mix of modern housing developments and traditional rural patches, with the Țegheș forest nearby providing recreational opportunities for residents.
