Bragadiru is a city in Ilfov County, located southwest of Bucharest, and has experienced massive residential development in recent years as part of the capital's expansion. The city's history is deeply connected to the Bragadiru family, who established one of Europe's most modern breweries here in the late 19th century. Originally a rural village, it has transitioned into a significant satellite city, hosting numerous new housing complexes and commercial spaces. The city is strategically positioned along the DN6 national road, which provides a direct link between Bucharest and Alexandria. Geographically, it is situated on a plain near the Sabar River, which historically supported the area's agricultural activities. Bragadiru was officially declared a city in 2005, reflecting its rapid demographic growth and its role as a key commuter town for the Bucharest metropolitan area.
