Crevedia is a commune located in Dâmbovița County, within the historical region of Wallachia, situated very close to the capital city of Bucharest. Historically a farming community, the settlement has transformed significantly in recent decades into a suburban residential and industrial hub. Geographically, it lies on the Wallachian Plain and is crossed by the Colentina River, which has led to the creation of several extensive fish ponds in the area. Records indicate the village was part of significant boyar estates during the early modern period. The commune comprises several villages, such as Samurcași and Cocani, and serves as an important administrative unit. Its current economy is a blend of traditional animal husbandry and modern logistics centers, reflecting the rapid expansion of the Bucharest metropolitan area.
