Getting there
Access is primarily through the main gates of the Peneda-Gerês National Park in the northwest. Several well-maintained roads lead from nearby towns directly into the mountains.
Best season
Late spring to early autumn is the optimal time to visit, although summer can be busy. Winter brings harsh conditions and occasionally heavy snow to the higher elevations.

What to bring
