The Serra de Fafe is a granite mountain range in northern Portugal, located in the Braga district, forming part of the foothills of the Peneda-Gerês system. The landscape is characterized by massive granite boulders, heathlands, and deep valleys shaped by erosion over millions of years. Its maximum elevation reaches approximately 617 meters at the Lameiro point. In modern times, the range's profile has been significantly altered by the installation of numerous wind farms, making the region a key hub for renewable energy in Portugal. The mountains gained international fame through motorsport, hosting some of the most spectacular stages of the Rally de Portugal, including the legendary Fafe Jump. Geologically, the area is rich in granite, which has been used for centuries in local traditional construction. The vegetation consists mainly of gorse and heather, giving the relief a rugged and wild appearance typical of the Minho region.
