Siklawa Waterfall (Poland)

Weather…

Wielka Siklawa, deeply located within the profoundly rugged heart of the High Tatras, is unquestionably the absolute largest and most voluminous waterfall in all of Poland. It is spectacularly formed exactly where the Roztoka stream firmly exits the exceptionally scenic Valley of the Five Polish Lakes, plunging violently over a remarkably broad, immensely steep granite wall down into the significantly lower Roztoka Valley. Boasting a truly highly impressive drop of approximately 65 to 70 meters, the violently plunging water naturally completely divides into two or three thunderously powerful streams, highly dependent on the seasonal water levels. The literally deafening roar of the violently crashing water masses is particularly awe-inspiring during the intense late-spring snowmelt or immediately following exceptionally heavy summer downpours, when exceptionally fine water mist deeply blankets huge portions of the surrounding valley in moisture, frequently generating intensely colorful rainbows in bright sunlight. The considerably remote waterfall is exclusively safely accessible via highly rocky, occasionally demanding hiking trails, which perfectly crucially preserves it as a deeply untouched natural monument utterly far removed from mainstream mass tourism.
