Radomsko is an industrial city in the Łódź Voivodeship, central Poland. It has a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages, but today it is best known for its furniture industry. The tradition of furniture making started here in the 19th century with the famous Thonet bentwood furniture. This industry still dominates the local economy, earning the city the nickname "capital of furniture." Besides its industrial importance, Radomsko also has cultural significance as the birthplace of Janusz Korczak, a famous educator, and Stanisław Różewicz, a renowned film director. The city gives several historic churches and a regional museum documenting local history and the furniture craft. Radomsko is conveniently located on the main route between Warsaw and Katowice.
