North Cape Hall (Norway)

Weather…

Nordkapphallen is the tourist center at the North Cape, marking one of the northernmost points in Europe on the island of Magerøya. The building was erected in 1959 on the prominent plateau that rises 307 meters steeply from the Arctic Ocean. The hall's architecture is partially integrated into the rock to protect it from extreme Arctic weather conditions. Inside, visitors find a modern cinema with a panoramic screen, exhibitions on the history of the Cape, and a chapel considered the northernmost ecumenical chapel in the world. Especially during the summer months, the hall is the central location for observing the phenomenon of the midnight sun. In winter, it provides shelter from storms and is the starting point for tours to observe the Northern Lights. A well-known monument in front of the hall is the 'Globe,' which stands as a symbol of the global meeting of people at the edge of Europe.
