Lisac is a prominent mountain in western Montenegro, located near the city of Nikšić, reaching an elevation of approximately 1501 meters. Geologically, it is part of the Dinaric Alps system and consists primarily of Mesozoic limestone, which has led to the formation of various karst features such as caves and rock fissures. The lower slopes of Lisac are covered with beech and oak forests, while the higher elevations are dominated by barren rocky landscapes and alpine meadows. Historically, the mountain served as a significant landmark for caravans traveling between the coast and the interior regions. Due to its isolated position, the summit provides an outstanding panoramic view of the Nikšić plains and the distant peaks of the Durmitor massif. The climatic conditions are characterized by cold winters with heavy snowfall and mild summers. In local folklore, Lisac is often mentioned in songs and stories that tell of the hardships of mountain life. Today, the mountain is primarily visited by local hikers and nature enthusiasts who appreciate its tranquility and unspoiled landscape.
