The Great Rock of Cobani, locally known as 'Stânca Mare,' is a prominent natural monument in the Glodeni District of northwestern Moldova. This massive limestone reef extends for about one kilometer and rises up to 40 meters above the Prut River valley. Geologically, it belongs to the chain of Sarmatian reefs that formed millions of years ago in a shallow, warm sea. the rock is densely packed with fossils of prehistoric marine organisms such as corals and algae. Archaeologically, the site is highly significant due to the discovery of an ancient fortress's remains and evidence of human settlements from various historical periods. The vegetation on and around the rock is unique, hosting rare steppe plant species that are nearly extinct elsewhere in the country. From the reef's summit, visitors can enjoy extensive views over the Prut Valley and into neighboring Romania. Protecting the area ensures the preservation of this unique geological and cultural heritage.

The Great Rock of Cobani is located near the village of Cobani in northwestern Moldova, about 20 kilometers from Bălți. Access is via the regional road R9 and then a dirt road; a regular car is fine.
