Vāne is a rural settlement located in the Tukums Municipality, within the historic Kurzeme region of western Latvia. Historically, the village developed around the Vāne Manor, which served as a significant administrative and social hub during the era of the Duchy of Courland and Semigallia. The most prominent landmark is the Vāne Lutheran Church, constructed between 1573 and 1582, representing a vital piece of Reformation-era architecture in the Baltic states. The village's layout still reflects its aristocratic past, with the manor house and its landscaped park forming the heart of the community. Situated in the rolling hills near the Imula River valley, the area is characterized by fertile lands and a tradition of agricultural excellence that continues to this day. In the 19th century, the manor underwent significant renovations that introduced Neoclassical elements to the local architectural landscape. Today, Vāne is valued for its commitment to preserving its historical heritage while fostering a peaceful, rural environment for its residents and visitors alike.
