Getting there
Located conveniently close to Vientiane, the park can be reached in just over two hours by hired car, motorbike, or local bus. The typical starting point for most eco-tourism activities and jungle treks is the village of Ban Hat Khai.
Best season
The best time to visit is from November to February when the weather is relatively cool and good for trekking. The orchid bloom peaks around March and April, though temperatures rise, while the wet season makes paths muddy.
Terrain & paths
The environment consists of undulating sandstone mountains, deep gorges, and patches of dense evergreen forest. Trails vary from easy walks near waterfalls to demanding uphill climbs through thick vegetation and rocky riverbeds.
What to bring
