Tad Yuang
Tad Yuang is one of the most visitor-friendly and photogenic waterfalls on the Bolaven Plateau. It features a broad 40-meter drop into a scenic pool surrounded by animated tropical flora. Unlike some of the more rugged falls in the region, Tad Yuang has well-maintained stairs and paths that lead to several viewing decks, including one at the very bottom where you can feel the refreshing mist. The area at the top of the falls is flat and landscaped, making it a highly popular spot for picnics among both locals and travelers. Small shops near the entrance sell local handicrafts and the region's famous coffee beans. It is less intimidating than the nearby Tad Fane, offering a more serene and approachable natural experience. Easily reachable from Pakse as part of a Bolaven Plateau loop, it is best visited during the dry season from November to March. During this time, the water flow is steady and the surrounding gardens are in full bloom, making it a highlight of any trip to Southern Laos.
