Weather…

The Central Mosque of Almaty is one of the largest and most impressive houses of worship in Kazakhstan. It was built in 1999 on the site of an older mosque that dated back to the 19th century. The current structure is a masterpiece of modern Islamic architecture. It is made of white marble and is crowned by a brilliant blue dome with a diameter of 20 meters, decorated with calligraphy from the Quran. Five minarets surround the main building, the tallest of which reaches a height of 47 meters. The interior is spacious and bright, accommodating up to 7,000 worshippers. The mosque is not only a place of prayer but also an important cultural and community center for the Muslims of Almaty.
