Rakhmanovskie Springs (Rakhmanovskie Klyuchi) are situated at an altitude of 1,760 meters in one of the most remote and beautiful corners of the Kazakh Altai. The resort sits right on the shore of Lake Rakhmanov, surrounded by dense cedar forests and offering a direct view of the imposing twin peaks of Mount Belukha. The main attraction is the natural radon springs, with water temperatures ranging from 34 to 42 degrees Celsius. Since the 18th century, these springs have been used to treat respiratory, skin, and joint ailments. Legend has it that a hunter named Rakhmanov spotted a wounded deer that was healed by the spring waters. Beyond the spa treatments, the surrounding area gives fantastic opportunities for mountain hiking and nature photography. The trail to the "Bride's Hair" waterfall is a popular route. Gastronomically, guests are typically served hearty, healthy meals in the sanatoriums, often featuring local Altai ingredients. The season is short, running from June to September, though winter visits are possible for the adventurous. Getting there is a challenge, involving a steep mountain road accessible only by 4WD vehicles. The reward is unparalleled silence and pure mountain air.
