Jim Corbett National Park (India)

Weather…

Jim Corbett National Park, located in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, is the oldest national park in the country, originally established in 1936 as Hailey National Park. Spanning an area of approximately 520 square kilometers in the Himalayan foothills, the park is world-renowned for its significant population of Bengal tigers. In 1973, it became the birthplace of Project Tiger, a landmark conservation initiative dedicated to protecting these endangered big cats. The landscape of the park is exceptionally diverse, featuring dense sal forests, vast grasslands, and the Ramganga River, which serves as the lifeline of the ecosystem. In addition to tigers, the sanctuary is home to Indian elephants, leopards, and over 600 distinct species of birds. Due to its ecological significance and pioneering role in wildlife conservation, the park attracts thousands of nature enthusiasts and researchers every year.
