Jim Corbett National Park near Ramnagar is a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts and the birthplace of 'Project Tiger' in India. The park stretches across the Himalayan foothills, offering a diverse landscape of dense Sal forests, grasslands, and the Ramganga River. Visitors come here to go on safaris and, with luck, spot the majestic Bengal tiger or wild elephant herds in their natural habitat. The park is divided into various zones like Dhikala, Bijrani, and Jhirna, each with its own unique charm. Besides tigers, Corbett is home to over 600 species of birds, making it a hotspot for birdwatchers. Staying in the government forest rest houses inside the park features an authentic wilderness experience. Reaching the park is through Ramnagar, which is well-connected to Delhi. The best time to visit is from November to June, as the park remains partially closed during the monsoon.
