Shillong

Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, is a beautiful hill station perched at an altitude of 1,496 meters. Often referred to as the 'Scotland of the East' due to its rolling hills and misty weather, it is a city of distinct character. Shillong is known for its animated music scene (often called the rock capital of India), trendy fashion sense, and the matrilineal culture of the indigenous Khasi people.
