Erding combines centuries-old Bavarian traditions with a future-oriented economy, situated in the affluent periphery of Munich. The town was first documented in 788 and quickly rose to prominence as a ducal residence of the House of Wittelsbach, which is reflected in the grand layout of its historic center and the imposing 'Schöner Turm' gate. In modern times, Erding has become synonymous with leisure and relaxation due to the Therme Erding, the planet's most extensive indoor thermal bath facility. Economically, the town thrives on its proximity to Munich Airport and the presence of world-leading companies in the beverage and aviation sectors. Despite its modernization, Erding maintains a high level of cultural heritage, celebrated through events like the 'Herbstfest' and local brewing festivals. The S-Bahn connection makes it a highly desirable residential area for commuters seeking a high quality of life outside the state capital.
