Puy du Fou (France)

Weather…

Puy du Fou is a globally unique historical theme park located in Les Epesses, western France. Unlike classic amusement parks, it features no roller coasters, instead focusing on monumental live shows that bring different eras of history to life. Founded in 1978, the park has since become one of France's most popular destinations. The performances range from Roman gladiator battles in a massive stadium and Viking raids to the adventures of the Musketeers. The centerpiece is the 'Cinéscénie,' the world's largest night show, featuring thousands of volunteers and telling the history of the Vendée region. The park emphasizes historical detail, authenticity, and spectacular special effects, such as a Viking longship rising from the water. In addition to the shows, there are faithful recreations of a medieval village, an 18th-century town, and a turn-of-the-century village. Puy du Fou has been voted the world's best theme park on multiple occasions.
