While dominated visually by the cooling towers of the nearby Saint-Alban nuclear power plant, the town has developed a surprisingly rich recreational infrastructure. The Parc de l'Étang is a large, beautifully landscaped public area featuring a calm lake, modern playgrounds, and extensive picnic grounds that serve as the main gathering spot for locals. The town's name, featuring the unusual word "Exil", is historically linked to its former geographic isolation before modern bridges connected it to the wider region.
