Väike Munamägi (Estonia)

Weather…

Väike Munamägi, located in Valga County near the town of Otepää, is one of the most prominent peaks in the Otepää Upland with an elevation of 207.5 meters above sea level. It should not be confused with Suur Munamägi, the highest point in the Baltics, yet it remains a significant geographical feature with a relative height of about 80 meters. The hill is a classic example of a glacial accumulation form, composed of sand, gravel, and clay deposited by melting glaciers at the end of the last ice age. Since the 1930s, it has developed into a major center for winter sports, notably hosting Estonia's first international-standard ski jump in 1934. The slopes are covered with mixed forests, primarily spruce and birch, which help stabilize the loose glacial soils. Its proximity to Otepää, the winter capital of Estonia, makes it a year-round focal point for tourism, hiking, and alpine skiing. The summit features expansive views over the rolling moraine landscape of the southern Estonian countryside.
