Gammel Estrup is one of Denmark's most significant manor houses, located in eastern Jutland. The castle's history dates back to the 14th century, though the current building originates primarily from the Renaissance and was constructed in the 16th century under the Skeel noble family. For over 600 years, the estate was owned by the same family, which has contributed to the preservation of its architecture and interior furnishings in exceptionally good condition. Today, the castle houses the Danish Manor Museum, which provides a deep insight into the lives of the nobility and their servants over several centuries. The grand halls are furnished with valuable tapestries, paintings, and furniture, while the Baroque garden with its ponds and hedges invites exploration.
